
Dogs transportation
In passenger or long-haul express trains dogs transportation is allowed in a compartment or a first-class carriage
provided by the purchase of all seats in the compartment by the dog owner regardless of the presence of passengers. This rule also concerns guide dogs of blind passengers.
Large dogs (above 45 cm) are transported in put on muzzles, leashes, chains or dog belt restraints.
One passenger is allowed to transport only one dog.
Dogs transportation by train is permitted at the presence of veterinary certificate.
In
suburban and local trains it is allowed to transport a large dog only
in outside (non-operational) vestibules of the first and last train
carriages. The dog has to be supervised and accompanied by the dog’s
owner.
The ability of dog transportation in trains equipped with
seats (Intercity, Intercity+, diesel electric trains of high comfort)
depends on the design of a carriage. If the seats are divided into
compartments, then dog transportation is allowed if all the seats in
compartment are purchased by the dog’s owner. If the seats are not
isolated, the transportation of large dogs is prohibited.
Dogs transportation, regardless of their size, is allowed in the third class (platzcard) carriages of night trains.
It is necessary to issue electronic baggage receipt for dog transportation.
It
is allowed to place small dogs (with the height up to 45 cm) under the
seats in the carriage. The dog has to be put in a box, basket or cage.
One passenger is allowed to transport no more than two species.
Dogs transportation in railway passenger transport is allowed in the presence of a veterinary certificate.
Cats transportation
Cats are transported in special boxes, baskets or cages. It is necessary to order an electronic baggage receipt for an animal.
One passenger is allowed to transport only one cat.
Cat transportation in railway passenger transport is allowed inthe presence of a veterinary certificate.
Transportation of fancy birds and other small pets
Fancy
pet birds (up to three species) and small pets (up to two species) are
allowed to be transported in all types of carriages, regardless of the
presence of passenger’s carry-on luggage.
Every passenger has
the right to transport for free pet birds in cages (1 cage only) above
the limit of excess carry-on luggage.
Animals have to be placed
in special boxes, baskets, cages occupying the volume of no more than
one item of carry-on luggage. Cages, boxes, baskets are put in the
places intended for carry-on luggage.
It is not necessary to buy
tickets for all seats in the compartment (order of separate compartment)
for small pets and pet birds in cages.
